Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle manual therapy for adults, kids, and infants. It is a very light touch- about 5 grams of pressure, or the weight of a quarter resting on you. It works through the energetic and electrical exchange of touch and gentle release of restrictions in the body. Its effect loosens the fascia (fibrous connective tissue that wraps and connects all of the muscles and organs of the body) and has amazing results in the realignment of the entire body. It accesses a deep parasympathetic, rest & relax state where unwinding and healing can occur.
During a CST treatment, the client can be an active participant of setting their intention and “going within” their own body to focus on what we’re working on. This can be very useful for making real change! Treatment is done lying on a massage table, fully clothed, with blankets available for warmth or comfort.
Reasons to consider CST are:
- Head injury
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Motor-coodination issues
- Breastfeeding issues
- Post-frenotomy
- Post-birth recovery
- Anxiety
- PTSD
- Insomnia
- TMJ
- Migraines & headaches
- Scoliosis
