Mercedes Alice ARNP

Psychiatric nurse practitioner

Mercedes Alice ARNPI started my journey into healthcare at Washington State University.  After a lifelong love of science and helping people, I found nursing to fulfill both these interests.  During my studies I discovered a passion for psychiatric nursing, specifically.  After graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing I worked in a cardiac intensive care unit until finding an opening in an inpatient psychiatric unit for children and adolescents.  While working in the inpatient unit, I returned to school for a Masters of Science in Nursing (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) with a specialty in Psychiatry and Mental Health.  I had the opportunity to complete my practicum and internship at a community behavioral health agency in Seattle that focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders, and was hired by this agency as a Psychiatric ARNP.   At ENM, I love working in an place that focuses on the mind and body as a unit.

I was raised in Kent, WA.  After moving to eastern Washington for school I moved back to the Seattle area with my husband.  We have since added to our family, and are enjoying our daughter and son.  We enjoy being in the outdoors and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
